WHAT IS FRP?

Fiber Reinforced Polymer (FRP) is a composite material made up of a polymer matrix reinforced with fibers. It is a versatile and high-performance material that combines the strength and stiffness of the fibers with the lightweight and corrosion-resistant properties of the polymer matrix.

The fibers used in FRP can be made from various materials such as glass, carbon, aramid, or basalt. These fibers provide the structural reinforcement and contribute to the mechanical properties of the composite. They are typically embedded in a matrix material, which is usually a polymer resin such as epoxy, polyester, or vinyl ester. The matrix holds the fibers together and transfers loads between them.
