STRUCTURES
From mobile field units to permanent buildings, Northstar’s Ballistic Structures are made of lightweight, high-strength FRP materials providing ballistic and impact resistance against high velocity projectiles.
Northstar Ballistic Structures are manufactured using FRP - which is spatially constructed glass reinforcements in a proprietary resin matrix. The panel components are cured in a controlled cycle so that when struck by a bullet or any other projectile, the ballistic panel de-laminates in a way that absorbs the energy and stops the projectile.
Northstar ballistic materials have been tested in accordance with Underwriters Laboratories (UL) 752 requirements for Levels 1-8 (including Supplementary Shotgun,) although other options are available upon request.

Northstar’s EXOSHELL exterior wall panels have been tested under high velocity hurricane (HVHZ) zone exposure “D” pressures, with zero water and zero air permeability without the reliance of a finish coat system.

They usually comprise a low thermal conductivity material formatted as a barrier between two conductive surfaces, such as the end caps of steel beams. Thermal breaks are essential architectural components in extremely cold environments where thermal bridging through the metal framework can be detrimental to energy savings and human safety.
EXOSHELL Exterior Wall Panels are being implemented to address additional concerns in permanent building construction, such as the difficulty of limiting heat transfer through metal-to-metal fixtures and heat losses through exterior walls.
EXOSHELL Exterior Wall Panels can be used in a range of formats to provide thermal conductivity advantages to architects in a range of challenging environments and for budget-conscious projects.
